Walk D: Bassett’s Mead
(1.2 miles / 1.9km – 25 minutes) |

| This short walk follows the River Whitewater for
part of its course on a new path created in Bassett’s Mead (near
Holt Park). This chalk stream is rich in wildlife and you can sit by
it and watch the ducks at the pub at the end of the walk.

Transport to start of walk:
- Walk from your home, if you live in Hook.
- Train to Hook station, 250m to the south of Hook centre. Served by half hourly trains from Waterloo (except Sunday when hourly). See

- Bus 200 runs from Basingstoke, Odiham, Hartley Wintney and Camberley to Hook every hour Monday to Saturday. Look at

- Car: If you are planning to use the Crooked Billet pub, park in their car
park. Otherwise, park along Holt Lane.
