On 1st July 2006, Hook Parish Council and Hook Schools
Parents Association jointly hosted Hook's first ever Summer Festival.
Hartletts Park and the Hook Schools' grounds played host to the fun,
which included The Green Roadshow's first visit to Hampshire. The
Roadshow included a solar powered big top which featured a circus with
clowns, unicycles and slapstick, but no animals. There was also
information about being green, such as recycling and environmentally
friendly transport. The event gained sponsorship from
Serco and a grant
from
The National Lottery's Awards for All to cover most of the cost of
staging the three day event. |
